As one of Applejack Hospitality’s first restaurants, The Botanist has held a special place in Kirribilli’s community since 2012. Over the years The Botanist has been home to countless exciting events, unique menus, and so many unforgettable memories.

Throughout the past ten years, we have stirred a staggering 173,554 cocktails and a whopping 835,001 share-plates have left the kitchen pass. It’s been an incredible journey and we have loved every minute of being a staple in the Kirribilli community.

New Year's Eve

Situated in the heart of Kirribilli, the place to be in Sydney for New Year’s Eve, The Botanist has played host to a number of NYE parties over the years. From our very first Hawaiian shirt party, a Desert party, Murder Mystery, Garden Soiree, and now this year’s Circus theme, our NYE parties are always a blast.

Launch of The Kindness Store

In 2019 we set up an online gifting platform named ‘The Kindness Store’ so guests could purchase thoughtful gifts & send affirmation notes to one another, in the hope to lead a more mindful & kinder life.

Fan Favourite Dish - Ricotta Gnocchi

2018-2022

“The BEST gnocchi we’ve ever had” – Botanist Diner, 20 Jan 2020 

Our Ricotta Gnocchi with dried tomato, basil, spicy nduja butter, rocket, pine nuts, and parmesan has proved to be a guest favourite for over 4 years.

Into The Wild Dinner

Earlier this year we partnered with Discovered Foods to bring a one-night-only premium dining experience featuring wild game meat. It was an awesome night, full of delicious food & perfectly paired wines. It was a celebration of sustainable meat by then Head Chef Scott Mills.

The Botanist Famous Sliders

Before our menu evolved to what it is today, The Botanist was known for slinging ridiculously good sliders. From a slider bar popping up at Kirribilli Markets to 2017, we gathered to watch the amazing happen, as guests were invited to compete in a slider eating competition for the ages. Contestants ate their way through as many delicious sliders as they could, it really was a sight to see.

Botanist Birthday Celebrations Through The Years

Over the years we have celebrated our Birthdays with memorable parties. We celebrated our first birthday in 2013 with a huge party, then our 5th birthday in 2017 with a Soiree Cakes custom Botanist Birthday cake! And now this year we celebrate our 10th birthday was some awesome prizes including 10 days of giveaways from local businesses and a $1000 Applejack prize.

Fan Favourite Cocktail - The Botanist Lychee Martini

A regular on our Cocktail list for several years now, this simple yet delicious cocktail continues to be a guest favourite.

Mindful March

In 2021 we launched our first Mindful March, a month-long celebration of mindfulness in Kirribilli. That first year we hosted a crafternoon and served up delicious food & drinks specials partnering with Lyres. In 2022 we once again celebrated with food & Lyre’s drinks specials, as well as a one-off vegan dinner, it was a great experience!

Countless Wedding Celebrations

Throughout the years The Botanist has played host to a number of small intimate wedding receptions. The Botanist is the place to be after a beautiful wedding down by the harbour, guests love to celebrate with a banquet feast or drinks in our dining room.

Chefs Menus Through The Years

Over the years Kirribilli has been home to a number of prominent and exciting chefs. From Sa Va’afusuaga bringing his expertise in seafood and grilling to Scott Mills love of fresh local produce and now Sendura Lim’s passion for sophisticated delicious food.
